Ally Walker grew up in Santa Fe with her father, a physicist, and a lawyer mother. Ally attended UC Santa Cruz as a biology and chemistry major, intending to pursue a career in genetic engineering. But it was while spending a semester at Richmond College of the Arts in London, that Ally developed an interest in theater. But on her return to the States, she went on to graduate with a degree in science, and even worked as a researcher on a genetic engineering project.
      But fate intervened when she was spotted by a movie producer in an LA restuarant and was cast in the low budget film Aloha Summer. Her scenes ended up on the cutting room floor, but she managed to get her SAG card from the exprience, opening the way to a further career in acting. Aside from numerous commercials and modeling, Ally has also had parts in such television shows as, LA Law, Wings and Matlock. Some may remember Ally from her role in the romantic hit, While You Were Sleeping, where she played Sandra Bullock's rival.
      In August of 1997, Ally gave birth to a son, Jon, in Los Angeles. The father is Ally's husband, John Landgraf, Vice President, NBC Prime-Time Series.
