IMOGEN STUBBS

Imogen Stubbs lived briefly in Portsmouth then moved with her parents to London, where they inhabited
an elderly river barge on the Thames. Educated at St. Paul's and then Westminster, she went on
to Oxford gaining a First Class degree.
She achieved success on stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company, most notable as Desdemona in
"Othello". Additional stage work includes "St. Joan" at the Strand Theatre and "Heartbreak
House" at the Haymarket. She is best known to UK audiences as the resourceful private detective
Anna Lee in the television series, "Anna Lee". But it was such films as "Senses And Sensibility"
in which she co-starred with Emma Thompson, and playing the lead in "Twelfth Night" opposite
Helena Bonham Carter, that introduced U.S. audiences to her work.
