Born to a Dutch toy and cabinetmaker dad and an English teacher mom, Rebecca Romijn [pronounced: Row-main] Stamos, suddenly found herself on the road to super stardom after her stint as the intriguing Mystique in the mega hit The X-Men.
Modeling and acting wasn't originally part of Rebecca's agenda. It was while attending the University of California in Santa Cruz that her focus changed. "I used to sit in my dorm room...," she has said in interviews, "...thinking, I just know I'm missing out on something. But of course I had no money. And so this friend hooked me up with an agency, and it happened very quickly. I moved to Paris, got a cover of French Elle, and stayed for two and a half years."
Aside from nabbing a contract with Biotherm, which she has had for seven years, and being a spokesperson for Tommy Hilfiger, the five-foot-ten beauty has graced the pages of numerous magazines including SPORTS ILLUSTRATED swimsuit spreads, Victoria's Secret catalogs, and was voted in People Magazine as one of the "50 Most Beautiful People" in both 1997 and 1999.
In 1994 Rebecca met actor John Stamos, of Full House fame, at a Victoria's Secret fashion show in New York, but it wasn't until 1997 that he proposed. In September 1998 they were married in Beverly Hills with over 400 guests attending.
