LENA OLIN

Lena Olin was born into a family of theater actors. Her father, Stig Olin, was an actor and
played in Ingmar Bergman's masterpiece The Seventh Seal. Lena learned her craft early,
studying at the Royal Dramatic Theater. It was while she was there that she caught the
attention of Bergman who went on to direct her in several projects including King Lear,
After the Rehearsal, and Miss Julie.
Lena Olin made her American film debut in the 1988 film The Unbearable Lightness of Being
opposite Daniel Day-Lewis. From there she went on to star opposite Ron Silver and Anjelica
Huston in the critically-acclaimed Enemies, A Love Story, a role for which she received
the New York Film Critics Award for Best Actress as well as an Academy Award nomination.
Lena now lives in New York with her husband and two children.
