MARY STUART MASTERSON
28 June 1966
New York City, New York
Mary is the daughter of actor-writer-stage director Peter Masterson and actress Carlyn Glynn.
So in 1975 when Peter Masterson got a co-starring role in the film version of "The Stepford Wives",
it wasn't totally unexpected that Mary would follow in her parents' footsteps. She was cast as
the daughter of her father's character in the same movie, thus making her feature film debut
at the age of nine.
After this one stint in the movies, Mary's parents decided she would have a more grounded
childhood outside the limelight. However, she did perform in productions at New York's
Dalton School and on Broadway at age 15 in "Alice in Wonderland".
When she was 17 she returned to film in the role of Danni in "Heaven Help Us". And except for an
eight-month dry spell after completing the film, during which she entered New York
University to study anthropology, she hasn't slowed down.
