Dutch born Famke Janssen has completed a mission as intense as any embarked upon by 007. She
is now a Bond girl who is not just remembered for being a Bond girl.
She first came to the attention of Goldeneye producers as a comic-book type avenger in Model By Day, B movie material where she played a high kicking vigilante and cover girl.
She was cast as the perfect foil for 90's Bond in Pierce Brosnan's first film as 007 when as
Xena Onnatop she was the ex-Russian agent with the thighs of steel who threatened to squeeze
Bond out of existence. Cigar in hand, she was dismissed as just another decoration in the
series by some critics but later appearances with Woody Allen and John Hannah in the aspiring
cult British Classic, Circus saw Janssen shake of the Bond girl mantle once and for all.
She will build a fine career via action girl rolls but can display a softer side that makes
her one of the favorites of the 'Beauty with brains' fraternity.
