LINDA HAMILTON
September 26, 1956
Salisbury, Maryland
Linda Hamilton is the second eldest in a family of four children. Tragically, her father died in a car accident when Linda was only five years old, and eventually her mother remarried.
Linda began acting at an early age but never considered acting as a career. For a couple of years Linda studied classical piano and had a summer job working as a security guard in a local zoo. But it was while working with a children's theatre group in Salisbury that her love for acting became apparent.
After graduating high school in 1974, Linda enrolled in two acting classes at Washington College, and while there performed in a couple of student productions. Two years later she moved to New York where she joined the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.
Appearing in numerous student stage productions, she finally made her professional debut with a small role on the television drama Search for Tomorrow.
Linda's first big break came in 1984 when she played the part of Sarah Connor in The Terminator. But she truly came to fame in the role of Catherine Chandler in the hit television series, Beauty and the Beast. The show earned her nominations for an Emmy, Golden Globe, People's Choice, Saturn, and Romy Awards.
Linda is a big football fan (SF 49ers), and loves ice-cream. In her free time she reads, plays Scrabble, collects Santa Claus and Easter Bunny figurines, and is mad about horses, but most of all she loves spending time with her children.
