KIM DELANEY
November 29, 1961
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
As with many actresses, Kim Delaney began her acting career in the modeling industry, and even
while attending high school she was already having a lucrative and successful time of it. Upon
graduation, Kim Delaney moved to New York where she signed with the Elite Modeling Agency and appeared on a number of magazine covers such as "Glamour" and "Seventeen".
Branching out, she turned towards acting and eventually was asked to join the cast of All My Children, playing the Jenny Gardner. A stint that lasted three seasons. Kim changed focus, left series television behind and began pursuing parts in features films. After a number of less than satisfying roles, Kim decided to get back into television and soon got a guest
spot on the highly successful L.A. Law and a co-starring role in Tour Of Duty.
Television movies and straight-to-video gigs followed until Kim appeared in a four-episode
arc on the hit show NYPD Blue, as alcoholic detective Diane Russell, a part which lead into a regular character and won her an Emmy Award.
Kim has a son, Jack, with second husband, actor Joe Cortese. On her off time, she likes
being with her family, biking, swimming and working out.
