Claire Danes is the youngest in a family of two children. Her mother is a painter and teacher. Her father, a computer consultant. Being raised in a creative household apparently influenced her choice of career for at the tender age of six, Claire started taking dance lessons, and three years later, Danes turned her atten- tion to acting by enrolling in the Lee Strasberg Studio. From there she went on to join the Professional Performing Arts School in NY, while yet attending high school.
      In 1990 Clare made her feature film debut in "Dreams Of Love", but it was her performance six years later in "Romeo & Juliet" that rocketed her to super stardom, making her one of the most sought after actresses in her age group.
      Claire likes spending time on school studies, in particular humanities and science. She is also interested in surfing, and has always participated in gymnastics.
