AIDAN QUINN
March 8, 1959
Rockford, Illinois
Aidan Quinn spent most of his life living on both sides of the Atlantic; his parents - his
father a literature professor, his mother a housewife - had emigrated from Ireland to the States
in the 1950s, where Aidan, as well as his sister and three brothers, were born.
Artistic blood runs in the family. His older brother Declan is a cinematographer and has
worked on such films as "Leaving Las Vegas" and "Vanya On 42nd Street". His sister
Marian is a working actress, and brother Paul is a writer, director and actor.
Only the youngest sibling, Robert, has stayed away from the limelight, choosing instead to make a
living as a landscaper.
Although a roofer by trade, Aidan discovered his love for acting around 1978 when he was about
19 and living in Dublin. But work wasn't so easy to come by in Ireland, so he returned to
Chicago, where he made his stage debut in "The Man in 605". In 1984 Aidan Quinn made his feature film
debut in "Reckless", but his breakthrough role came a year later in "Desperately Seeking Susan".
Aidan has two daughters, Ava Eileen and Mia, with his wife Elizabeth Bracco.
