The son of Diana and Kirk, Michael Douglas has a brother, Joel, and two half-brothers, Peter
and Eric. He is a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at

Shortly after his arrival, Michael was cast in the CBS Playhouse production of "The Experiment,"
which led to the lead role in his first film "Hail Hero!". In 1975 Michael stretched his
producer's wings with "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" after buying the rights from his
father and teaming up with Saul Zaentz. It went on to win him an Academy Award.
He was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace in 1998 because of his efforts to abolish
nuclear weapons and to stop the proliferation of small arms.
