Jamie Bamber was born April 3rd, 1973, in Hammersmith, a suburb of London. He has five brothers and a sister. Jamie's father, Ralph, a native of Detroit, MI, was a management consultant and his mother, Elizabeth, a native of Northern Ireland, trained to be an actress. The Bambers lived in France for Jamie's first few years. Jamie's first role was the Wicked Witch of the West in a production of The Wizard of Oz, directed by his mother.
Jamie attended St. Paul's School in London and St. John's College, Cambridge, earning a 1st Class M. A. Honors in Modern Languages. Jamie entered the London Academy of Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) in 1996. Jamie left LAMDA after one year to play the role of Midshipman Archie Kennedy in A&E's Emmy Award-winning mini-series Hornblower. He portrayed Lord Tony in The
Scarlet Pimpernel. More projects soon followed including Lady Audley's Secret, and Poirot: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.
Jamie lives in London. His favorite sports are rugby, golf and skiing. He is an avid reader of Dante & Shakespeare, and enjoys Italian food.
