WILLIE AAMES
July 15, 1960
Los Angeles, California
Best known for his role of Tommy Bradford in the 1977-1981 hit TV series Eight Is Enough, and then Buddy Lembeck in Charles In Charge, Willie Aames found himself the object of thousands of teen girl's dreams. Having his face plastered on almost every Teen Magazine wasn't easy for the young heartthrob, and he soon found himself caught up in the Hollywood fastlane, succumbing to drugs and alcohol.
During this time he starred in such movies as Paradise and Zapped, neither of which did well at the box office.
After Charles In Charge was canceled, Willie's career took a giant plunge. The best work he could find was hosting TV specials such as Circus of the Stars, and producing/directing commercials for Northwest Airlines and Jiffy Lube.
After kicking a two-gram-a-day cocaine habit, Willie finally cleaned up his life and married Maylo McCaslin in 1986, and turned his attention to God. Both he and his wife are born-again Christians.
It seemed for a while that Willie's talents would remain behind-the-scenes, but in 1995, Mike Schatz, the president of Pamplin Entertainment, approached him about playing his new superhero, Bibleman. It was a big hit. Since then, Willie has made nine videos, including "Defeating the Shadow of Doubt" and "Conquering the Wrath of Rage", which have sold half a million copies at Christian booksellers, Wal-Mar and through Bibleman.com.
Although Willie's face no longer graces the covers of Teen Magazines, he has finally found his peace and direction, which he shares with his wife and two children.
