Bill Howey Acting Studio - [RDL] Objective: You’ll get to do your scene twice a night. After the first time you’ll get an extensive critique of your performance. Bill Howey breaks down the scene and story. He asks lots of questions which stimulate intense thoughts in you. After the detailed, specific feedback you will do the scene again so you can apply what you just learned. You’ll get another critique based on the second performance. You get a whole week to work on the scene then you do it again twice the next week. And if you need more work on it (which most actors do) you’ll bring it back a third week. This is an acting workshop. It’s where you work on story, emotion, masking the emotion, intention, character behavior, transitions, and many more elements that make the scene believable. We’re not an easy class. It’s for actors who want to be challenged. We don’t stroke our actors. It’s a place to work out problems and take risks and make lots of mistakes. We don’t want you to try to do it right. We want you to experiment and try things outside your comfort zone. Bill Howey sets a high bar for his students because it’s a tough world in the industry. So if you’re not born lucky then you have to work for the part. There’s lots of competition out there.
